Our son is out of college now, some grad work. More like slave work. He refused to be a TA WHILE having to pay tuition...whadda racket.

Has his undergrad chem degree, at least. Is making 10.00/hr and glad to have it at this point. Doesn't know how he'll ever finish paying off his loans, though.

For him and a lot like him, their best bet is a continental-wide financial catastrophe.

He just keeps on working and postponing getting married or having children.

A waste.

I think the last sentence should actually read:

"It just demonstrates that our commitment to environmental friendliness ends when government figures out they can raise more revenue."

It's going to be easier to travel with than a netbook, and you can use a full-sized keyboard with it via bluetooth. It's the first ereader suitable for comics, and is better than the Kindle insofar as it allows multiple ebook stores (and, via iTunes, you can sync any DRM-free epub books to it). People who think that only eink is suitable for readers haven't played much with ultra-high-res LCDs.

It's better for surfing the web on than anything else out there. You can use it to play two-person games, where you both play simultaneously (MS Surface stuff, basically).

It also offers a better user model for non-techies than the WIMP/file system model.
