Jeff Simmermon, a blogger at And I Am Not Lying, and a fellow cable industry shill, links to what may now be my favorite stop action animation piece of all time. It’s a music video for Zombie Zombie’s Driving This Road Until Death Sets You Free. The video, features footage of the band performing interspersed with the action figure remake of The Thing. Check it out.
About 17 years ago, or so, I went to a short and animated film festival. They had some really great work on display and I was particularly impressed with two films – Juke Bar and Balance. It has been nearly two decades since I first saw them, and I had not seen either one since. Occasionally, though, something would remind me of one or the other and I remembered them fondly.
Something got me thinking about them today. I figured I would put the power of the Internet and YouTube to work and see if they have since resurfaced. I found Balance on YouTube. It’s below.
Juke Bar turned up on the website of the National Film Board of Canada and is linked below. You should check them both out.
A psuedo-reformed political hack takes stock of his life, family, community, and living in our nation's capitol. If a good writer writes about what he knows, expect me to cover politics, technology, telecommunications, consumer gadgets, pop culture, the constant struggle that is parenting, the two best kids in the known world, the wife that makes me crazy, the odd moments I get to enjoy my hobbies, and a big goofy mutt named Kobi.
